An Update from Sustain Wayne
Dear Community,
Happy New Year!
The members of Sustain Wayne would like to let you know of some changes over the past few months. Sustain Wayne is currently renting The Bellefonda House on Main Street as our headquarters. This will give us the opportunity to offer programming and community events while still actively seeking donations for the Masonic Hall renovation. Our first goal and most pressing issue to address is the replacement of the foundation to make the building structurally sound.
We have also had some changes to the Board and have welcomed a few new members. Our current members are Cindy Townsend, Owner & Operator of Cranberry Rock Farm as Co-President alongside Tammy Birtwell, Owner & Operator of Birtwell Farm as Co-President, Morgan Birtwell, Secretary and Megan Stevenson, Treasurer. Other members include Sam Saunders, Chris Bennett, Emily Watson and Alberta Longone-Messer.
Sustain Wayne’s mission focuses on creating and strengthening community connections. Local food, educational programs, energy conservation, heritage and the arts are all part of our mission. We are excited to start reaching our goals through our new space at the Bellefonda. We’ll be offering local food and dining experiences, cooking and art classes, performances, workshops and more. Please watch for upcoming events that will be posted in the Messenger, Facebook, and online at sustainwayne.org
Sustain Wayne would love to have you stop by and visit and we are always looking for new Board members and volunteers. We welcome your ideas and input! Please let us know if you’re interested in hosting an event, starting a community club, or would like to get involved.
Thank you,
